Spicy.

John gave me one half of this spice rack for Christmas. I loved it so much that I asked him to pick up two more. I stacked two for cooking spices and have another single one for baking spices (my kitchen has separate areas for cooking and baking so we can have two happy chefs working at one time). The spice rack came with a limited set of labels, but I saw that they had a website with a full list of spices available. Excellent. I looked it up and found the labels for $3. Excellent. I put them in my cart and proceeded. Until I saw that the shipping was $6.66. Not so excellent. I'm not paying twice as much as the product for shipping, especially since the product is a piece of paper!

Since I have mad paper skillz, I figured I could make my own. John designed the labels, using colors from the kitchen. We printed them at home on an inkjet printer and I added clear embossing to the tops.

They aren't laying as flat I hoped, but they'll do for now. Note to John: do not delete that file.

On another note: thanks for your comments below, gary k. I hope you'll come back and check out future projects. I think I've decided to add molding between the cabinet and the wall. I may have some extra laying around that matches the cabinet. If not, I'll use plain quarter round and paint it the same color as the wall. I'm also thinking that I can use a chisel to remove a bit of the existing molding at the top (same as the one on the pantry) and start the molding right next to the ceiling. I'll let you know how that goes.

OMG. I have been looking for spice racks that are pretty and stack and are affordable ... with no luck at all ... and then I see your post and am off to Tuesday Morning and come away a very happy camper. Thank you!
